FRIENDS - Do I know YOU? Do you know ME?

I love the BBS slogan. It makes so much sense.

If we all added up our Friends/Associates on our various networks I am sure the number would be greater than 500, perhaps 1000 for some. But are we truly networking together?

I know for myself I chose my network friends whether I initiate contact or not. It is based on profiles or discussions and I consider them to be like-minded business people. So, who have you contacted from your networks lately? I, like others, have a pet-peeve if someone just spams me with information. I feel you haven't take the time to get to know me or what I do. Not the best way to start a relationship. However, when someone takes the time to present themselves, then I am much more likely to be interested in their business. We should all ask, "How can I help your business grow?" This in turn should create the desire in the other business owner to reciprocate.

I have given myself a goal of connecting with all my Friends/Associates on my 10+ networks. I have also vowed not to join any others (okay I am considering one more, but I haven't joined yet!).

So, be on alert, I will be connecting with you. Hope you do the same with me and all your other Friends/Associates. I like doing business with people I know.

And I know it's not a new topic, but I rather have 100 Friends on all my networks than 1000 that are not like-minded. Less is more and I will be reviewing who I am associated with for the remainder of the year. And not just with my online networks.

I try my best to keep in contact with all my friends across my vast social network, its a job in and of itself but I'm a people person and always have something to say, business or not. I may just crack jokes all day but I stay in contact. It took awhile for me to learn the mechanics of social networks because I had to UNtrain myself from a lot of the mess I learned about network marketing over the years.

I was shameless in slamming links everywhere without even a hello until I found out the hard way from a moderator that it wasn't the way to go if I wanted any respect. I put the question back to you Tara, how can I help your business grow? Are we friends? If not, why not?

I can sure affirm your reaching out to others. It's one of the reasons that I stay connected to this site. I have not had much success in garnering business for myself, but I have taken advantage of some of the business' that others have to offer and have found good savings and tools to use. The information that is shared on this site by the many different business' is astounding.

I love reaching out and I loved to be reached. I don't like the spam any more than anyone else does. I like to refer them to Lee Greens page on Networking when I do get spammed!! Like you, I have long ago determined that I am not joining any other groups. I can barely handle the ones that I have already joined.

One thing that I have found that I don't like is when you get an offer to visit a page and then have to join in order to check it out. Other than that, I am loving and learning this online form of networking.
