Success: How Do I Get My Hands On It?
What causes one person to be successful and another a failure?
Some say that education is the reason for one man succeeding and another failing and yet we know of men and women who are extremely educated, but for whatever reason, cannot seem to achieve their life’s purpose or desire for more. On the other hand, we also know of men and women who have never stepped foot on a college campus and are among the wealthiest people in the world. Many have even attempted to attain a formal education and in the process of doing so realized that a degree was not necessary in order to achieve what they had envisioned. In fact, most of the professors who teach at various colleges and universities around the world are a far cry from successful. They can teach you about everything under the sun. They’re educated; but many, in fact most are not successful. Can we therefore conclude that education is not the determining factor for one’s success or the lack thereof for one’s failure? Is this true?
Some say that God is responsible for our success or failure, but God said, I lay before you life and death, blessings or curses…choose ye or you choose. Its your choice. Failure is guaranteed whenever the responsibility to achieve is left in the hands of someone else to accomplish. You cannot blame anyone for you lack of wisdom.
While men and women from every creed, color, and nationality have succeeded the same holds true for those who have failed. So what is the answer? Many would say that those who work hard and never give up are the ones who succeed and those who are lazy will never be successful. Surely this cannot be true for most of us have worked on jobs where the hardest workers were usually those who were least compensated and those who sacrifice the most are usually the least appreciated. Take our military soldiers for instance, or the thousands of police officers and firemen who risk their lives each and everyday and yet most of them live dangerously close to the flip side of success.
So, how do I get my hands on it?
It becomes obvious that success to any degree takes more than a simple little cliché to mimic. I have come to the conclusion that no one thing in particular will guarantee success or failure. For I have found that all of these things are necessary for one to achieve success in any endeavor that one may choose. It is the combination of tools, talent, planning, skills, education, perseverance, determination, action, opportunity, preparation, support, mentors, faith, finances, and desire that will ultimately lead one to his destination.
